With over 35 years of experience as a licensed psychotherapist, Morrisa Drobnick, LCSW is the Co-Director of Search for Self Counseling Center. Morrisa provides expert care for individuals and families facing a variety of challenges, including grief, bereavement, depression, anxiety, and life transitions. Her therapeutic approach is focused on helping clients achieve emotional healing, navigate difficult life changes, and improve overall well-being.
Morrisa is personally trained, licensed, and appointed by Dr. John Gray, the bestselling author of Men Are from Mars, Women Are from Venus. This specialized training in relationship therapy and marriage counseling has enhanced Morrisa’s ability to work effectively with individuals, helping them overcome challenges and deepen their connection.
Throughout her career, Morrisa has focused much of her work on grief and bereavement counseling, offering compassionate support for individuals and families coping with the loss of a loved one. She works with clients to help them process the common reactions to grief, including shock, anger, denial, guilt, and depression, guiding them toward acceptance and emotional growth.
Morrisa has also worked extensively with children, adolescents, and families in crisis, providing counseling for a wide range of issues such as family conflict, parenting challenges, and emotional well-being. She has contributed her expertise to Bergen County Kids Magazine as a writer and regularly leads workshops for local schools on topics related to divorce, death, and terminal illness.
Morrisa’s therapeutic approach is eclectic and tailored to the needs of each client. She evaluates the individual or family situation and adapts her methods accordingly, ensuring that each client receives the most effective care possible.
Her practice also includes telehealth therapy, making her services accessible to clients throughout Northern New Jersey. Morrisa is known for her compassionate, client-centered approach and her ability to provide practical tools for emotional healing and growth.
Morrisa lives in Bergen County, NJ, with her husband, Richard Drobnick, LCSW, also a distinguished therapist and Director of Search for Self Counseling Center. Together, they have two grown daughters, Silver and Selena, and are dedicated to helping individuals and couples throughout Northern New Jersey achieve emotional balance, healing, and lasting fulfillment.
